REMOTE MEDIA FESTIVAL
THIS WEEK WE'RE ALL ABOUT THE TORRES STRAIT!
The 20th Remote Indigenous Media Festival is happening on Waiben (Thursday Island) this week, coinciding with the release of Mau Power's ARRIVED and Busby Marou's NABA NOREM, plus new album THE GREAT DIVIDE. Check the awesome film clips below for these great tracks coming out of the Torres Strait.

Watch the GATHERING VOICES festival concert tonight, bringing together leading First Nations musicians to celebrate the history of the Torres Strait through song.
MAU POWER ARRIVED
RELEASE OF NEW SINGLE 'ARRIVED'
ARRIVED is the first track to be released since Mau Power's sophomore album Blue Lotus earlier this year. The album features collaborations with Radical Son, Benny Walker, Jimblah and George Musu to name a few.

Defined to “reach a place at the end of a journey or stage in a journey”, ARRIVED is about the realisation of when you have arrived at an important, singular moment in your destiny. Beginning with gratitude for 'the flow', the track hits hard with energy from the jump and features the soaring emotive RnB vocals of Marcus Corowa. "The driving motivation for writing this song was inspired by “what life can become” and in turn, the song became a personal mantra, speaking this vision into existence along the way." says Mau Power.
BUSBY MAROU
NEW ALBUM 'THE GREAT DIVIDE' RELEASED TODAY!
NABA NOREM means let’s go to the reef in the Torres Strait Meriam Mer language. “We wanted to come here to the Mer islands and capture some of our precious, ancient culture in song,” says Jeremy Marou. Following the release of NABA NOREM, Busby Marou's new album THE GREAT DIVIDE has hit stores globally today. Busby Marou are touring Sep/Oct/Nov ... check dates HERE and see if they are playing somewhere near you.
